Raleigh, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan tennis programs dominated the Pacers of William Peace in a conference clash in the capital city. Sweeping every set in both matches and crushing to easy 9-0 victories, Wesleyan continues to crush USA South competition.
Women's Match:
N.C. Wesleyan 9, William Peace 0
Ivanna Torres and
Ajla Selimovic took the #2 doubles with a 8-0 victory while
Bethan Fothergill and
Linda Nhiwatiwa did the same at the #3 slot 8-0. In singles competition,
Ajla Selimovic,
Solomiia Badii, and
Ivanna Torres all swept the Pacers in two sets with 6-0 wins. In a big win, the Lady Bishops will now set its sights on Mary Baldwin this weekend.
Men's Match:
N.C. Wesleyan 9, William Peace 0
In another big Bishop win, Wesleyan controlled the doubles from start to finish, only allowing a lone Pacer point at the #1 position, while
John Falke and
Logan Stoltz along with
Sean Keane and
Andy Fanzaga won comfortably in 8-0 decisions. In singles play, Wesleyan continued to be in complete control with all matches being won in straight sets and five out of the six contests were won 6-0. The men's tennis program will have a busy weekend, traveling to Stevens and Swathmore, while Mary Baldwin comes to Rocky Mount for a USA South match.
