Men's Tennis Falls to #27 Carnegie Mellon, 4-0

Fredericksburg, VA - The N.C. Wesleyan men's tennis team faced off against a tough opponent in #27 Carnegie Mellon on Saturday morning, falling 4-0 in a neutral-site contest held at the UMW Tennis Courts.

Carnegie Mellon took early control by claiming the doubles point, winning on courts one and two. The pairing of Raghav Jangbahadur and Brendan Hendrata defeated Luca Knese and Albert Sitwell 6-3 at No. 1, while Takeshi Koey and Akshay Joshi blanked Martin Cardestig and Bernardo Messineo 6-0 at No. 2. Court three was left unfinished, with Brody Brice and Logan Stoltz trailing 4-3.

In singles play, the Tartans carried their momentum into the top of the lineup. Alex Feies defeated Diego Segovia 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1, followed by a 6-2, 6-1 win by Jangbahadur over Knese at No. 2. The clinching point came at No. 5, where Koey bested Messineo 6-3, 6-3.

The remaining singles matches were left unfinished, though several Bishops were battling hard. Bohdan Zhylchuk and Sitwell both pushed matches to a third set at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, while Stoltz was in a tight contest at No. 6 before play was halted.
