Baltimore, MD - The North Carolina Wesleyan men's tennis team saw its 2025 season come to a close on Saturday afternoon, falling 4-0 to No. 10 nationally-ranked Johns Hopkins in the NCAA Division III Tournament Second Round at the JHU Tennis Courts.
The Battling Bishops (13-13) battled throughout but ran into a strong Blue Jays squad (15-7) that took early control in doubles play. Luca Knese and Albert Sitwell dropped a 6-3 decision at No. 1 doubles, while Brody Brice and Logan Stoltz fell 6-2 at No. 2. The No. 3 doubles match, featuring Francesco Raparo and Bohdan Zhylchuk, was left unfinished with Wesleyan leading 4-3 when the doubles point was clinched.
In singles, Johns Hopkins continued its momentum. Marco Azar delivered a 6-1, 6-4 win over Shori Nishizoe at No. 6 singles, followed by a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles by Chakor Rajendra over Diego Segovia. Allen Gong sealed the match for the Blue Jays with a 6-2, 6-2 decision at No. 4 singles.
The remaining matches at Nos. 2, 3, and 5 singles were left unfinished.
The Bishops conclude another strong season under head coach Albie Brice, highlighted by an NCAA Tournament win and a 13-13 overall record against one of the nation's most challenging schedules.
