Bishops Battle Campbell in Competitive Home Match

Rocky Mount, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan men's tennis team battled against Division I opponent Campbell University on March 13 at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center, ultimately falling 5-2 in a competitive matchup.

The Bishops started strong in doubles play, claiming the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 3. Adam Singleton and Ben Russell secured a 6-4 win at the top doubles position, while Brody Brice and Largo Koch added another 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles to give Wesleyan early momentum.

In singles play, several matches proved to be tightly contested. Adam Singleton pushed his No. 1 singles match to three sets after winning the opening set 6-3 before Campbell rallied for the victory. Albert Sitwell also battled through a competitive three-set match at No. 3 singles, taking the first set before narrowly falling in the deciding set.

NC Wesleyan picked up its lone singles point at No. 5, where Martin Cardestig rallied after dropping the first set to secure a hard-fought three-set victory, winning 5-7, 7-5, 6-2.

Despite the final score, the Bishops showed resilience against a strong Campbell squad, competing closely across multiple courts while gaining valuable experience against Division I competition.
