Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Bishops Finish Memorable Year in NCAA Tournament Play

Rocky Mount, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan men's tennis team saw its outstanding 2026 season come to a close on May 9, falling to nationally ranked Johns Hopkins 4-0 in the second round of NCAA Regional play at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center.

Facing one of the top programs in the country, the Bishops battled throughout the afternoon against a talented Blue Jays squad. Johns Hopkins secured the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, while the No. 1 doubles match featuring Adam Singleton and Martin Cardestig was left unfinished with the Bishops trailing just 5-4.

In singles play, NC Wesleyan continued to compete with toughness and determination against elite competition. Several matches remained highly competitive before the overall result was decided. Indrek Raudkivi held the lead during his unfinished match at No. 6 singles, while Adam Singleton continued battling at No. 1 singles when the match concluded.

Although the postseason run came to an end, the Bishops wrapped up another memorable and highly successful season. NC Wesleyan captured its 17th consecutive USA South Conference Championship earlier in the postseason, continuing one of the most impressive championship streaks in Division III tennis.

Throughout the year, the Bishops consistently showcased depth, resilience, and composure across the lineup. Players such as Adam Singleton, Albert Sitwell, Ben Russell, Farhaan Patrawala, Martin Cardestig, Indrek Raudkivi, Julian Valverde, and Brody Brice all played major roles in helping NC Wesleyan reach the NCAA Tournament once again and continue the program's championship tradition.

This match also marked the final collegiate match for a special senior class that helped continue the standard of excellence for NC Wesleyan men's tennis. Their leadership, dedication, and commitment to the program helped shape another championship season and left a lasting impact on the program both on and off the court. The seniors represented NC Wesleyan with pride, determination, and sportsmanship throughout their careers, and their presence will certainly be missed moving forward.

Despite the final result, the Bishops once again proved they belong among the nation's top programs while continuing to build upon the winning culture that has defined NC Wesleyan men's tennis for nearly two decades.
