Rocky Mount, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan men's tennis team opened NCAA Regional play in dominant fashion on May 8, sweeping Albright College 4-0 at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center.
The Bishops took control early in doubles play, securing the doubles point with convincing victories at No. 2 and No. 3. Albert Sitwell and Julian Valverde earned a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles, while Ben Russell and Brody Brice followed with a 6-2 victory at No. 3 to give Wesleyan the early advantage. The No. 1 doubles match was left unfinished with NC Wesleyan leading 4-3.
NC Wesleyan carried that momentum into singles, quickly closing out the match with dominant performances across the lineup. Farhaan Patrawala delivered a strong 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles, while Martin Cardestig followed with a commanding 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5.
Indrek Raudkivi sealed the match for the Bishops at No. 6 singles with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 performance, clinching the regional-opening victory. Several other singles matches were left unfinished once the team result was decided, with NC Wesleyan holding advantages on multiple courts.
With the win, the Bishops advance further in NCAA Regional play, continuing their strong postseason run and showcasing the depth and consistency that has defined their season.
