Nadine L’Heureux approaches her third year as the Assistant Director of Esports at North Carolina Wesleyan University overseeing the Production Unit of the Bishop Esports program. L’Heureux encompasses guidance and structure for creative projects within Entertainment and Esports.
In the Spring of 2022, L’Heureux joined the Bishop Esports program to highlight the program and its members through promotional efforts via social media and campus events. As growth in members increased, the Production Unit flourished into a thriving on-campus and virtual experience for members and supporters. The creative projects include newscasting, podcasting, field reporting, graphic designing, live and studio event planning, social media managing, audio/ video editing, and much more! The Production Unit also serves as a campus liaison providing resources such as equipment, software and learning material for members and supporters encouraging production of creative projects.
L'Heureux is a graduate of Full Sail University earning a Bachelor of Science in Recording Arts (2020) and a Master of Science in Entertainment Business (2021). During her studies, L’Heureux worked on audio engineering projects for music production and game development, as well as project management for a joint venture agreement between parties representing game development/ design and production/ distribution. This direction in creative projects sparked her interest in entertainment within higher education. Shadowing the Program Manager of the Entertainment Business & Business Intelligence Master of Science programs, Victoria Wasinger, L’Heureux led the student/ alumni presentation of the Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting, comprised of entertainment industry professionals who are executives in popular companies such as Activision Blizzard Entertainment, Sony Entertainment and EA Sports to name a few, and other industry professionals in higher education. The PAC meeting facilitates students/ alumni live presentations (in-person and virtual) of their experience in the program and respective accolades in their career and connects them with the industry professionals who support the academic programs.
With a wide variety of universal and transferrable skillsets, L'Heureux continues to highlight entertainment and esports in higher education by encouraging appreciation and interest in these fields, providing guidance and structure for production of creative projects, and creating networking opportunities within the entertainment and esports community.
