Nadine L'Heureux enters her fifth year with the Bishop Gaming Association (BGA) and North Carolina Wesleyan University, serving as Assistant Director of BGA and Head of Productions. In her role, she oversees BGA Productions, providing leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for students interested in esports, media, entertainment, and digital content creation.
Since joining the program in February 2022, L'Heureux has played a significant role in expanding the organization's media and production initiatives. What began as a small team of two to three student creators has evolved into a recognized production group supporting campus programming, esports initiatives, and student-led creative projects. Through BGA Productions, students gain hands-on experience in broadcasting, journalism, podcasting, graphic design, social media management, audio and video production, event planning, content strategy, and digital storytelling.
Under her leadership, BGA Productions has become an important resource for students pursuing careers in media, entertainment, communications, and sports-related industries. The team develops original content designed to inform, engage, and celebrate the North Carolina Wesleyan community. Through BGA News, student-led podcasts, esports coverage, interviews, feature stories, and promotional campaigns, students gain real-world experience producing content while building professional portfolios. BGA Productions regularly highlights coaches, student-athletes, faculty, staff, alumni, student leaders, and other notable members of the campus community, showcasing the diverse people and accomplishments that contribute to the University's culture and success.
In addition to overseeing production initiatives, L'Heureux helps students identify experiential learning opportunities beyond esports. Through collaborations within the Dunn Center and across campus, students have participated in live and recorded productions supporting concerts, theatrical performances, presentations, interviews, special events, and other programming. These opportunities expose students to professional production environments while developing the technical, creative, and communication skills sought by employers throughout the sports, entertainment, media, and venue management industries.
A graduate of Full Sail University, L'Heureux earned a Bachelor of Science in Recording Arts and a Master of Science in Entertainment Business. Her academic background combines audio engineering, entertainment business management, project leadership, strategic communication, intellectual property awareness, and creative problem-solving. During her studies, she participated in projects involving music production, game development, and entertainment-focused business ventures, strengthening her passion for connecting creative industries with higher education.
While attending Full Sail University, L'Heureux shadowed Victoria Wasinger, Program Manager for the Entertainment Business and Business Intelligence master's programs. Through this experience, she coordinated and led student and alumni presentations for Full Sail University's Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings. These meetings connected students and alumni with entertainment industry executives, higher education leaders, and professionals representing organizations such as Activision Blizzard Entertainment, Sony Entertainment, EA Sports, and other influential sectors of the entertainment industry. The experience provided valuable exposure to industry leadership, strategic planning, professional networking, and educational program development, helping shape her vision for connecting students with career pathways and industry opportunities.
In addition to her responsibilities with BGA, L'Heureux serves as North Carolina Wesleyan University's Director of International Admissions and Designated School Official (DSO), leading international recruitment efforts and supporting students from around the world throughout their educational journeys. Her experience in enrollment management, compliance, student development, and cross-cultural engagement provides a unique perspective on the future of collegiate esports, entertainment, and higher education in an increasingly global environment.
As North Carolina Wesleyan University advances the vision for its School of Sports, Entertainment & Venue Enterprise (SEVE), L'Heureux continues to position BGA Productions as a hands-on learning environment where students gain experience across esports, media production, broadcasting, entertainment, and live event operations. Through collaborative projects, professional mentorship, and experiential learning opportunities, she helps bridge the gap between academics and industry, preparing students for careers in gaming, sports media, entertainment business, venue operations, content creation, and emerging technologies. In the process, students develop the technical, creative, and professional skills necessary to succeed in the interconnected industries, shaping the future of sports and entertainment.
Looking ahead, L'Heureux is passionate about expanding pathways that connect esports, entertainment, sports media, venue operations, and international education. Her long-term vision includes growing domestic and international recruitment initiatives, increasing opportunities for global student participation in collegiate esports, strengthening partnerships with industry professionals, and creating innovative experiential learning environments that prepare students for success in an evolving workforce. Through mentorship, professional networking, creative collaboration, and hands-on learning, she continues to advocate for esports as a platform for leadership development, career readiness, and student success.
