Bayden Collins

Bayden Collins enters his third year as Sports Information Director at North Carolina Wesleyan University. In this role, he oversees all aspects of athletic communications, including media relations, statistical reporting, digital content, and serves as the primary liaison between NCWU Athletics, the USA South Athletic Conference, and the NCAA.

Since assuming the position, Collins has played a key role in advancing the department’s communications and digital presence. He helped launch a redesigned official athletics website in partnership with SIDEARM Sports, improving accessibility, branding, and real-time statistical integration. Most recently, he helped coordinate and staff Wesleyan’s debut season with FloSports, as the University became the first in the USA South to fully operate under the conference’s groundbreaking streaming partnership.

Before his appointment as SID, Collins served as Director of Baseball Operations for the Battling Bishops from 2019 to 2022, contributing to the team's day-to-day operations. A graduate of nearby Rocky Mount Academy, he previously served as Special Assistant to the Head Coach for Northern Nash High School Baseball and was the longtime filmer for the football program.

At the time of his hiring, Collins was one of the youngest Sports Information Directors in NCAA history. His work continues to support the visibility of Bishop student-athletes and foster strong connections between the athletic department and the broader campus and community.

Vice President and Director of Athletics Aaron Denton added, “Bayden has a passion for sports and people. He continues to thrive in his role and has played a key part in our efforts to elevate the Wesleyan Athletics brand. His dedication to serving our student-athletes and community is outstanding.”

Collins earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Campbell University in 2023 and completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from North Carolina Wesleyan University in December 2024. He resides in Red Oak, North Carolina with his mother, Dr. Mindi Collins; his father, Bard Collins—who also serves as a volunteer assistant baseball coach at Wesleyan—and their dog, Buster.
