Sophia Johnson joins North Carolina Wesleyan as an assistant athletic trainer after earning both her Bachelor of Science in 2024 and a Master of Science in Athletic Training in 2026 from Pennsylvania Western University- California (formerly Cal. U of PA). During her graduate years, Johnson completed clinical rotations with PennWest Cal's football and baseball teams preceding a year-long immersive rotation with Stevenson University Sports Medicine where she worked with football, women's ice hockey, and men's lacrosse. Her primary sport assignments at NCWU are women's soccer, volleyball, men's basketball, and lacrosse. Johnson is a native of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.
