Clarke, Broich Lead NCWC to 1-0 Shutout at Maryville

Maryville, Tenn. - In USA South men's soccer action, North Carolina Wesleyan turned in a 1-0 shutout of Maryville College on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Alambi Clarke netted the only goal of the contest, unassisted, in the 77th minute. Freshman keeper Fabian Broich did the rest in goal, tallying a pair of saves en route to his first shutout.

The Bishops held a slim 8-7 advantage in shots on the day, while the Scots had an 8-2 lead in corners. Like Broich, MVC keeper Ben Munger managed two stops.

Wesleyan (9-2-2, 5-1-1 USA South) completes its regular season slate on Wednesday afternoon when the Bishops host Methodist University at 4:00pm. Head Coach Frankie Taal will be honoring his 2012 senior class prior to the match.
