Box Score

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's soccer team played West Division foe Brevard College (N.C.) to a scoreless draw at Truist Park in Winston-Salem on Wednesday afternoon.

Sophomore midfielders Emily Puentes and Sophia Sweeney led the Lady Bishops with 2 shots apiece with three of them on goal as an evenly-played first half saw Brevard lead just 6-5 in shots at the break.

BC then outshot the Bishops 6-2 in the second half, but senior goalkeeper Alicia Jacobs stood tall in net making 7 saves on all 7 shots she faced. Senior forward Madison Stace also got a shot off on goal against the Tornados, but each team played solid defense throughout in gaining the non-conference draw.

Wesleyan goes to 2-1-2 on the year while Brevard is at 5-1-1.

The Lady Bishops now return home on Saturday to host Meredith College at 1:00 pm from Scalf Field.
