Lady Bishop Soccer Fall 1-0 at Meredith

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's soccer team fell 1-0 Tuesday night in a hard-fought defensive effort on the road at Meredith College.

A scoreless first half saw each team attempt three shots apiece. Meredith, though, would then break through in the 74th minute of the second half as an assist across the field through two Bishop defenders to MC's Morgan Thomas then beat senior goalkeeper Alicia Jacobs for the eventual game-winning goal. 

Jacobs finished the game making 3 saves on 4 shots on goal as the Angels only outshot the Bishops 8-6 overall. Midfielder Kailey Munro led the Bishops with 2 shots while freshman Riley Benson and junior Sophia Sweeney each had a shot on goal.

Wesleyan falls to 2-6-1 on the year and 0-2 in the East Division while Meredith improves to 4-2 and 2-0 in the East.

The Bishops will now finish their road trip with a non-conference game at Johnson & Wales on Thursday in Charlotte at 6 pm before returning home to host Pfeiffer University on Saturday at 2 PM.
