Women's Soccer Gets First Conference Win Over Pfeiffer

Rocky Mount, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan women's soccer program secured its first USA South Conference win on Saturday in blowout fashion over Pfeiffer 3-0. In a first half which didn't see much action, the Battling Bishops were scorching hot in the second period with three straight goals and many close misses. Scalf Field would erupt when Nicole Yagi would cap the day off in perfect fashion with her first goal of the season. The scoreless tie was broken by Samantha Dell in the 56th minute for her fourth goal of the year.

Game Notes:
  • Wesleyan's 30 shots would be a season high and the highest differential for the team this season with a +20 advantage.
  • Mia Scherber would secure her second goal of the season in the 68th minute to extend the lead to 2-0.
  • Goalie Anna Yeakey would have four saves in 90 minutes of action. Saturday would be one of her best performances of the year.
