Box Score 2 Rocky Mount, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan volleyball program swept the tri-match against Pfeiffer and Warren Wilson inside Everett Gymnasium on Saturday. The Bishops would take down the Falcons in straight sets 3-0 and would beat the Wildcats in an extremely completive match that would go all five sets. Against Pfeiffer in the first match of the day,
Sloan Martin had every bit of a conference player of the week performance. Martin would have ten kills and fifteen aces to lead Wesleyan in both categories. Also in the beat down of the Falcons, the Battling Bishops would combine for nine service aces, which is a season high in three sets for the team.
In the second match of the afternoon, Wesleyan would have to battle back from a sluggish start which saw the ladies down two sets out of the gate. Ludy Borges and
Fiona Egan would show out combining for twenty kills in the final three sets. Fans were also entertained to six different lead changes during the closing three sets, which saw Wesleyan show tremendous heart to claw back in the contest.
Game Notes:
- For the first time this fall, Wesleyan did not lose a single sporting event on Saturday. Volleyball's two wins contributed to the five Bishop victories on the day.
- A career day for Sloan Martin came to an end with her leading Wesleyan to the third conference win of the season of the Falcons from Pfeiffer,
