Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Outlasts Mid-Atlantic Christian 88-58

Rocky Mount, NC - On a historic night which saw big man Kyron Kelly have a career high 29 points and nine rebounds, the Battling Bishops took down Mid-Atlantic Christian 88-58. Kelly would be a dominant force in the paint, being the main contributor to Wesleyan's incredible 68 points in the paint. Senior Marquis Eskew, who has had to step up in the point guard role for Wesleyan this season, facilitated the ball extremely well against the Mustangs, scoring six points, while grabbing six boards and dishing out six assists to cap off one of his best outings of the season.

The Basics:

Score:
 North Carolina Wesleyan 88, Mid-Atlantic Christian 58
Location/Venue: Rocky Mount, NC / Everett Gymnasium
Records: North Carolina Wesleyan (2-3, 0-0 USA South), Mid-Atlantic Christian (0-6)

While the offensive effort was one of the best of the season, which was further helped by Austin Manley and Jalen Mattocks in double figures, the defensive intensity was the best of the season for the Battling Bishops. Mid-Atlantic Christian was the first opponent that Wesleyan has held to under 60 points this season, with the Mustangs shooting under 40% from the floor and turning the ball over 22 times. The majority of those turnovers would turn into open transition buckets, with the Battling Bishops scoring 22 points off turnovers.
