Ashland, VA – The N.C. Wesleyan basketball program competed in the first game of the Randolph-Macon Coaches Tournament. In the first period of play, the Battling Bishops shot nearly 40% from the floor with
Deejayy Cox being the team's leading scorer. Cox would get two put back layups and spark a 6-0 run for Wesleyan with 5:00 remaining in the half.

Down as much as double-digits in the period, the Battling Bishops 6-0 run was energized by tenacious dunk from
Kyron Kelly who would finish the half with six points and six rebounds.
Out of the break, the Battling Bishops would get an electric 8-0 run to take a 42-40 lead with 16:23 in the half.
Austin Manley would knock down a triple along with two dribble-drive layups from
Marquis Eskew to get himself in double-digits.
The Nittany Lions would pull ahead by six at the under 12:00 timeout, but four made free throws from
Omari Bolden and
Justin Burden would get Wesleyan back within a single possession.
Shakei Hines would make a big bucket to cut the deficit to three before the under 8:00 media timeout.
The Battling Bishop's turnovers and nineteen Penn State Harrisburg baskets would be too much to overcome late in the second half as the Nittany Lions would pull away and win 78-71.
Marquis Eskew would be the team's leading scorer with 15 points, two rebounds, and two assists while
Kyron Kelly and
Deejayy Cox both got in double digits with ten. Kelly would finish in double digits as well grabbing a remarkable 13 rebounds.
