Rafael Farina made four crucial saves to keep the game square at 0-0. In the 77th minute, Hopkins would get a goal by way of Jacob Hammond to take the late lead. Wesleyan would punch right back only six minutes later with Bastein Dechamps scoring the first goal of the new season.
The Bishops would end up taking five shots on the afternoon, remarkably seven less than the Blue Jays who had 15 in the same category.
