Rocky Mount, NC - A heartbreaking affair where the Battling Bishops had a 2-1 lead in the second half, Wesleyan would give up two late goals to lose in a devastating defeat. At the break, Randolph would take a 1-0 lead in the break, mainly due to the outstanding ball pressure and goalkeeping by
Anna Yeakey.
Coming out of the break, the Lady Bishops got off to a ferocious start scoring goals with four minutes of one another by
Samantha Dell (3) in the 46th and 50th minute. While the Bishops couldn't come away with the victory, Wesleyan played one of the hardest games of the season so far.
Game Notes:
- Samantha Dell's two goals nearly completed her first hat trick. Her two goals double Dell's season total of one until today's game.
- Anna Yeakey continues to be a strong force for Wesleyan in gaol. Her 10 saves on Wednesday are her season high.
- The Battling Bishops had one of their highest shot totals of the season with 12. Attacking defenses and forcing good shot looks will be key as conference play approaches.
