Box Score 2 Rocky Mount, NC - On a special Senior Day, the N.C. Wesleyan volleyball team faced off against Salem, celebrating the remarkable careers of seniors Josie Bravo and Hannah Byrd. Despite a spirited effort, the Bishops fell in both matches 3-0.
Josie Bravo, a standout from Fort Myers, FL, and a communications major, delivered an impressive performance, tallying fifteen digs in the first match and adding a service ace in the second. A great Bishop on and off the court, Josie was named the receipiant of the Moe Bauer Sportsmanship Award in 2023.
Hannah Byrd, an exercise science major from Catawba, NC, is looking continue her education in occupational therapy after graduation and has had a stellar season, highlighted by a career-high 45 kills. Her contributions have been huge for Wesleyan this season.
Super Senior Sloan Martin led the Bishops in match one with nine kills and twelve assists, continuing to dominate the USA South. Aajah Vasquez played one of the best front lines of the season, recording four of Wesleyan's seven blocks in the second match of the afternoon.Â
