Volleyball Falls in First Round of USA South Tournament, Concluding 2024 Season

Buena Vista, VA - The N.C. Wesleyan Volleyball team's 2024 season came to an end with a 3-0 loss to Southern Virginia in the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament. Despite the defeat, the Bishops displayed resilience throughout the match, particularly in the first and third sets, where Wesleyan pushed the Knights to the limit, scoring over nineteen points in each of those sets.

Fifth-year senior Sloan Martin led the way in her final collegiate match, recording twelve assists and nine kills. Martin's performance marked a strong conclusion to a standout career, which included a remarkable achievement earlier in the season when she reached the 1,000-dig milestone. Fellow senior Josie Bravo also made her mark in her last game, contributing four digs and a service ace.

Freshman Shay Lunsford showed poise in her postseason debut, finishing with twelve assists and an ace. Her strong performance in the setter role offered a glimpse into a promising future for the Bishops.
