Baseball Falls in Midweek Action to Randolph-Macon

Ashland, VA - The N.C. Wesleyan baseball team traveled to Randolph-Macon for midweek action on Tuesday afternoon and fell 12-3. With the loss, Wesleyan falls to 16-8 on the season.

Going scoreless until the 6th inning, Colin Scoggins drove in two of the three Battling Bishop runs with an RBI single to bring in Jackson Hobbs and Drifton Padgett. Hobbs would later triple in the seventh and score on a throwing error by the shortstop.

Compiling nine hits on the afternoon, Javier Quintana and Colin Scoggins both would have multi hit afternoons on a cold and overcast afternoon in Ashland.

On the mound for the Battling Bishops, Nathanael Volk came in and looked sharp over the course of three innings. The Sophomore from Monroe, NC only allowed two Yellow Jacket hits and did not allow an earned run out the bullpen.

Wesleyan returns home this weekend to face William Peace in a three game set beginning Friday night at 6:00 PM. The Battling Bishops will also welcome home the 1989 and 1999 National Championship teams for the Celebrating Champions event.
