Men's Soccer Secures First Conference Win with 1-0 Victory Over Pfeiffer

Meisenheimer, NC – The N.C. Wesleyan men's soccer team earned a victory in its first conference opener, securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Pfeiffer on Saturday. A strong defensive performance and a timely goal in the second half lifted the Bishops to a crucial road win.

The Basics:

Score: N.C. Wesleyan 1, Pfeiffer 0
Location/Venue: Misenheimer, NC / N.E. Lefko Field
Records: N.C. Wesleyan (3-2-4, 1-0-0 USA South), Pfeiffer (2-4-2, 0-1-0 USA South)

The match remained scoreless through the first half, but it didn't take long for Wesleyan to break through after the break. In the 48th minute, Bastien Dechamps found the back of the net, finishing a well-executed play assisted by Lucas Marangos and Osei Darko to give the Bishops a 1-0 lead.

Wesleyan's defense was the story of the game, as the Bishops limited Pfeiffer to just one shot on goal the entire match. The back line was impenetrable, denying the Falcons any significant opportunities and preserving the shutout for the Bishops.
