Men's Soccer Battles Methodist to Scoreless Draw in Regular-Season Finale

Raleigh, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan men's soccer team closed out the regular season with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Methodist on Wednesday evening at Meredith College.

In a physical match that featured four yellow cards for the Bishops, both defenses stood tall as neither side was able to find the breakthrough. Methodist held a 17-8 advantage in shots, but goalkeeper Jacob Westermark was outstanding once again, recording five saves to earn the clean sheet for Wesleyan.

Jaden Delos led the Bishops with two shots on goal, while Mikkel Christensen added two more attempts in the attack. The Bishop back line, anchored by Daan Post and Samuel Brizon, turned away several late chances to preserve the shutout.

North Carolina Wesleyan moves to 7-8-2 overall and 4-1-2 in USA South play, finishing second in the conference standings. The Bishops will face the winner of the William Peace–Southern Virginia quarterfinal match in the USA South semifinals, set for next week at Scalf Field in Rocky Mount.
