Wesleyan picked up a thrilling packed house 80–78 victory over Pfeiffer on January 3 in its first USA South Conference game of the season, using timely scoring and strong contributions across the lineup to secure the win in front of a fired-up home crowd at Everett Gymnasium. The Bishops played with pace and confidence from the opening tip, building a 40–36 lead at halftime and maintaining their edge through a second half where every possession mattered. Wesleyan shot 50.8 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three-point range, while converting 66.7 percent of its free throws, helping the team make key plays down the stretch. The Bishops also showed balance in scoring and execution in transition, finishing with 38 points in the paint, 13 fast-break points, and 12 points off turnovers.
