Buena Vista, V.A. - N.C. Wesleyan concluded its 2025-26 season with a hard-fought 74–71 battle at Southern Virginia on February 26 in the USA South Semifinals at Knight Arena. The Bishops showed tremendous resilience throughout the contest, overcoming a nine-point first-quarter deficit and battling back to tie the game at 36–36 by halftime. The second half featured nine ties and six lead changes, highlighting just how competitive the matchup was. Wesleyan controlled the boards with 43 rebounds, including 27 offensive rebounds that led to 26 second-chance points, and forced 24 turnovers while scoring 35 points off those takeaways. Despite holding a late fourth-quarter lead and fighting until the final seconds, the Bishops came up just short in a dramatic finish.
Dorinda Jordan led the way with 19 points and 10 rebounds, delivering a double-double performance in her final game of the season. Alexandria Belton added 13 points and five steals, creating key transition opportunities, while Anaya Hall contributed 10 points and six rebounds. Shamaya Lynch provided a strong spark off the bench with 11 points and six rebounds, and Des'Myah Croom added 10 points and seven rebounds in a physical effort inside. The Bishops' balanced scoring and relentless energy were on full display as they battled the conference's top seed on the road.
Though the season ended in Buena Vista, this group leaves with a phenomenal and memorable campaign to be proud of. Finishing 15–11 overall and 12–6 in USA South play, advancing to the conference semifinals, and competing until the final possession reflects the heart, growth, and determination that defined N.C. Wesleyan women's basketball this year.
