Rocky Mount, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan women's tennis team continued its strong spring campaign with a dominant 6-1 victory over Piedmont University on February 27.
The Bishops set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. Renata Torres and Bethan Fothergill earned a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, while Andrea Elaez Miranda and Ivanna Torres followed with a 6-3 victory at No. 2. BreAnn Ferguson and Ajla Selimovic completed the sweep with another 6-2 decision at No. 3 doubles, giving Wesleyan full momentum heading into singles play.
In singles action, NC Wesleyan captured five of six matches. Andrea Elaez Miranda controlled the No. 1 court with a 6-1, 6-2 victory, and Bethan Fothergill followed with a straight-set 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2. Ivanna Torres secured a 6-4, 7-5 result at No. 3, while Renata Torres added a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 4. Ajla Selimovic dominated at No. 5 with a 6-1, 6-3 win.
With strong performances across the lineup, the Bishops demonstrated depth and consistency in both doubles and singles competition. The 6-1 team win highlights NC Wesleyan's continued momentum as the spring season progresses.
