Bishops Close Regular Season on the Road at Pfeiffer

Misenheimer, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan women's lacrosse team closed out its 2026 regular season on the road on April 18, falling to Pfeiffer 24-5 in Misenheimer. Despite the final score, the Battling Bishops showed continued effort throughout the contest, highlighted by strong individual performances on both ends of the field.

Maxima Iglesias led the Wesleyan offense with four goals, including scores in each half and a late goal in the final seconds, while Kelsi Oyer added a man-up goal in the first quarter to account for the Bishops' scoring. Wesleyan finished with six total shots, converting efficiently on its opportunities while continuing to battle for possessions against a high-powered Pfeiffer attack.

Defensively, goalkeeper Elizabeth Daniels delivered a standout performance in net, recording 18 saves while facing 50 shots across all four quarters. Oyer contributed across the field with four ground balls, four caused turnovers, and a draw control, while Iglesias added multiple draw controls and caused turnovers to lead Wesleyan's defensive efforts.

Pfeiffer built an early lead and maintained control throughout, but the Bishops continued to compete until the final whistle, closing the game with a goal from Iglesias in the final seconds. With the regular season now complete, N.C. Wesleyan will look to carry its effort and experience forward moving ahead.
