Bishops Defeat Pfeiffer 6-1 in Strong Home Performance

Rocky Mount, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan women's tennis team delivered a strong performance on April 10, defeating Pfeiffer 6-1 at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center.

After splitting doubles play, the Bishops secured the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Andrea Elaez Miranda and Ivanna Torres earned a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles, while Ajla Selimovic and Peyton McGahey followed with a 6-2 win at No. 3 to give Wesleyan early momentum.

NC Wesleyan carried that momentum into singles, winning five of the six matches to secure the team victory. Andrea Elaez Miranda led the way at No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-4 win, and Bethan Fothergill followed with a hard-fought three-set victory at No. 2.

Ivanna Torres added another point with a strong 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3, while Ajla Selimovic battled through a three-set match at No. 4 to earn the victory. Peyton McGahey contributed a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 6 to round out the Bishops' singles success.

Pfeiffer picked up its lone point at No. 5 singles, but NC Wesleyan controlled the match throughout, using depth and consistency across the lineup to secure the 6-1 team win.

With the victory, the Bishops continued their strong play, showcasing resilience and balance across both doubles and singles competition.
