Winston-Salem, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance on April 9, sweeping Salem College 7-0 on the road in Winston-Salem.
The Bishops controlled the match from the start, sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the early point. Bethan Fothergill and Renata Torres set the tone with a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while BreAnn Ferguson and Ivanna Torres followed with a 6-1 victory at No. 2. Ajla Selimovic and Peyton McGahey completed the doubles sweep with another 6-0 decision at No. 3.
NC Wesleyan carried that momentum into singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets. Bethan Fothergill led the way at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-3 win, and Ivanna Torres followed with a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 2. Renata Torres added another strong performance at No. 3, winning 6-0, 6-3.
Ajla Selimovic secured a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 4, while BreAnn Ferguson dominated at No. 5 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Peyton McGahey closed out the sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 performance at No. 6.
With the win, NC Wesleyan showcased its depth and dominance across the lineup, controlling every court to secure the 7-0 team victory and continue its strong run in the spring season.
