Greg Clifton

Greg Clifton is entering his seventh season as the head baseball coach at North Carolina Wesleyan, having taken the helm in June 2018. Since his arrival, Clifton has revitalized the Bishops' baseball program, guiding the team to three NCAA Tournament appearances, two USA South Conference Championships—and hosting an NCAA Regional at Bauer Field for the first time in seventeen years. Under his leadership, the program has produced multiple First-Team All-Americans, including the 2024 NCAA Division III Region VI Player of the Year.

Prior to Wesleyan, Clifton enjoyed a successful seven-year tenure as the head coach at Faith Christian School (FCS) in Rocky Mount, NC, from 2012 to 2018. At FCS, he compiled an impressive 133-36 record, led the Patriots to five conference championships, and secured back-to-back NCIHSAA State Championships in 2017 and 2018. His tenure also included three State Championship appearances in 2012, 2013, and 2016. Beyond his coaching achievements, Clifton spearheaded significant improvements to Faith's baseball complex, transforming it into one of the premier facilities in the state.

Clifton’s coaching experience spans over two decades, including roles as head coach for the North Carolina State Games, the Ironhorses Summer Showcase, and American Legion Post 38, as well as assistant coaching positions at Northern Nash and Bunn High Schools. He has had the privilege of mentoring numerous players who have gone on to excel at the collegiate level.

Off the field, the Roanoke Rapids native is the owner and vice president of Cenplex Building Services, a company he has led since 2003. Clifton oversees operations for 650 employees across 60 sites in North Carolina.

Greg Clifton resides in Nashville, NC, with his wife, Donna.
