Javier Quintana begins his coaching career in 2025 as Assistant Baseball Coach and Hitting/Infield Coach for the North Carolina Wesleyan Bishops, bringing recent playing experience and a strong offensive resume to the coaching staff.

Quintana, a Tampa, Florida, native and Durant High School graduate, enjoyed a standout playing career at NC Wesleyan, where he was a consistent offensive contributor and a leader in the lineup. As a junior in 2024, he posted a team-leading .345 batting average with 38 hits and 35 RBIs in 110 at-bats, slugging .455 while demonstrating patience with 30 walks and finishing with a .486 on-base percentage; he was named to the President’s List for his academic success.

During his sophomore season in 2023, Quintana continued to be a reliable bat, hitting .321 with 34 hits, 22 RBIs, 7 doubles and a home run. While he was also honored with the title of second team all-conference.

In his senior campaign in spring 2025, Quintana’s offensive excellence earned him regional recognition — including All-Region honors — as he started all 38 games, compiled a .343 batting average with 49 hits, 14 doubles, eight home runs and 33 RBIs, scored 42 runs, and reached base at a .481 clip with a .608 slugging percentage while drawing 37 walks.

A former second baseman and designated hitter, Quintana combines disciplined plate skills with gap-to-gap power and situational awareness — strengths he now brings to his role coaching and mentoring NC Wesleyan’s hitters.

As a first-year coach, he looks forward to developing the team’s offensive identity and helping student-athletes maximize their performance at the plate.
