Zach Lyon joins the N.C. Wesleyan baseball staff after being a five year student-athlete, who contributed to a USA South Championship and was a vital part of two NCAA Tournament appearances.
Earning the USA South's Don Scalf Award in 2023, Lyon was name the conference's student-athlete of the year and was a member of the N.C. Wesleyan President's List every year as a Battling Bishop.
On the field, Lyon hit .380 as the everyday left fielder on the 2023 title team and drove in 42 runs while earning first-team all-conference accolades. Helping the baseball program get back on the national stage, the Battling Bishops hosted a regional at Bauer Field for the first time since 2006 his final season.Â
Serving as the primary outfield coach, Lyon is extremely excited to return to Wesleyan by saying, "It is a full circle moment to be able to contribute to the team on the field to now being able to off the field. I loved my time as a Bishop and I can't wait to start as a coach."
