    Assistant Tight Ends Coach

Charlie Parker begins his coaching career at North Carolina Wesleyan as the Bishops’ tight ends coach after wrapping up his playing days in 2024. Appearing in five games at tight end, Parker hauled in two receptions for 16 yards and a touchdown, averaging 8.0 yards per catch. He finished the season with six points scored, earning recognition as a reliable red-zone target and steady contributor.

A dedicated student as well as an athlete, Parker was named to the President’s List in 2024 for his academic excellence.

Before coming to Wesleyan, Parker served his country in the United States Marine Corps, where he developed leadership skills, discipline, and a strong work ethic that now shape his coaching philosophy.

Head Coach Jeff Filkovski praised Parker’s addition to the staff, saying: “Charlie brings an incredible level of discipline, toughness, and knowledge to our program. Having served our country as a Marine and then competed as a Bishop, he understands what it takes to lead young men on and off the field. Our tight ends are fortunate to learn from someone with his experience and passion for the game.”

Known for his high football IQ and deep understanding of the game, Parker quickly earned respect for his ability to teach fundamentals, connect with players, and elevate their performance. His transition from the field to the sidelines makes him a valuable addition to the Bishops’ coaching staff and a role model for the program’s student-athletes.
