At North Carolina Wesleyan:
Portis enters his junior season with the Battling Bishops men’s basketball program after seeing action in 17 career games over his first two seasons. As a sophomore in 2024–25, he appeared in 10 contests, shooting 50 percent from the field while adding rebounds and defensive depth off the bench. During his freshman campaign in 2023–24, Portis played in seven games, averaging 1.0 points and 1.3 rebounds per outing with a season-high four points at Mary Washington. Known for his energy, toughness, and effort around the rim, he continues to provide valuable size and presence in the Bishops’ frontcourt rotation.

High School:
Graduate of Louisburg High School in Louisburg, North Carolina, where he was named Male Athlete of the Year and earned A Honor Roll distinction. Excelled as a leader on and off the court for the Warriors.

Personal:
Majoring in Sports Administration. Enjoys working out and watching his favorite movie, Coach Carter. Favorite athlete is Giannis Antetokounmpo. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in coaching.
