At North Carolina Wesleyan:
Gilbert enters his junior season as one of the Battling Bishops’ most consistent and physical frontcourt players. In 2024–25, he appeared in 21 games with 10 starts, averaging 9.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest while shooting an impressive 56.3 percent from the floor. He posted a season-high 21 points and seven rebounds in a road win at Virginia Wesleyan. As a freshman in 2023–24, Gilbert made an immediate impact, starting 13 games and averaging 6.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, highlighted by a 17-point performance against Mid-Atlantic Christian.

High School:
A standout at Ben L. Smith High School in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he earned three all-conference selections, first-team all-district honors, and was named Outstanding Player of the Year. He capped his prep career by earning MVP honors in the North Carolina East-West All-Star Game at the Greensboro Coliseum.
