Lillie Baumbach is in her first season as an assistant coach for the Battling Bishops softball program in 2025. Entering her first season on the coaching staff, Baumbach brings a wealth of playing experience and a strong defensive mindset to the team.
Baumbach joins NCWU following a standout collegiate career as an outfielder. In her senior season, she was a key contributor, starting all 41 games and posting a .290 batting average with 40 hits, 32 runs, and 20 RBIs. She showcased her power with 12 doubles, two triples, and two home runs, finishing with a .449 slugging percentage. Her disciplined approach at the plate helped her maintain a .338 on-base percentage, and she was a threat on the basepaths, swiping 12 stolen bases in 14 attempts.
Defensively, Baumbach was a reliable presence in center field, committing just two errors all season and recording an impressive .968 fielding percentage.
Before her time at NCWU, Baumbach played at Florence-Darlington Technical College, where she left a lasting legacy. Her impact on the program was so profound that her jersey was retired, a testament to her exceptional contributions on and off the field.
With her strong playing background and passion for the game, Baumbach is poised to make an immediate impact on the Battling Bishops softball program.
