N.C. Wesleyan Women’s Basketball Head Coach Artina Trader is pleased to announce Allen Kuiper as an assistant coach for the 2024-25 season. 

Coming to Wesleyan, Kuiper brings eight years of experience to the program and has proven to be a respected mentor within the basketball community.

Recently serving as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Cairn University in Pennsylvania, he orchestrated a remarkable turnaround for the program and improved the team’s win total by twelve in a single season. During the 2023-24 season, the Highlanders reached the conference tournament semifinals of the United East Conference and also had the UEC Skye Division Rookie of the Year. In the same season, Kuiper was named the conference's coach of the year for his efforts in orchestrating the remarkable turnaround. 

Kuiper spent the 2021-2022 season at Division II Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, NC as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. Kuiper’s main responsibilities included skill development (both guards & posts), scouting, community outreach, fundraising and recruiting. That season the Lady Falcons were able to achieve second seed in the CIAA Southern Division. Kuiper was also able to assist freshman standout Lauren Banks in achieving All-CIAA Rookie Team mention.

From 2020-21, Kuiper served as the Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Fayetteville Christian School in Fayetteville, NC. The Lady Warriors placed third in the NCISAA Sandhills Conference and earned a NCISAA playoff berth.

In 2016, Kuiper served as an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach for The College of New Jersey’s under Head Coach Dawn Henderson. His responsibilities at TCNJ included skill development, scouting, and recruiting.

Kuiper also has 10 years of grassroots coaching experience in both New Jersey and North Carolina. He has most recently coached for the Carolina Flames EYBL program. Kuiper has been personally mentored and certified by NBA/WNBA skill trainer, Ganon Baker.

Kuiper played two seasons of college basketball as a Scarlet Raider at Rutgers University - Newark where he was recognized on the Academic All-Conference Team, with his team reaching the semifinal round of the 2015 ECAC Division III Metro Men's Basketball Championship. He is a graduate of Thomas Edison State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in English in 2018. Kuiper is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Social Work from University of Central Florida. 

Kuiper is an alum of Spotswood High School (NJ) where he was recognized as a Greater Middlesex Conference (GMC) All-Conference player as well as Honorable Mention All-Area in basketball and GMC All-Blue Division in football. 

He is currently a member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and is a USA Gold Certified Licensed Coach while being a Ganon Baker Basketball Certified Trainer.

Coach Kuiper is married to Jessica Kuiper, and they have one dog, Rosco.
