Justin Bryant recently completed his 21st season in collegiate soccer. He most recently served as an assistant coach at NC State from 2018 to 2024, with the Wolfpack reaching the NCAA Tournament and finishing inside the national Top 25 for four consecutive seasons, including two trips to the Sweet Sixteen. His primary responsibility was as a goalkeeper coach, and two of the starting goalkeepers he trained are now in the professional ranks, with Maria Echezaretta at Tenerife CD (Spain) and Jessica Berlin at Galway FC (Ireland). His coaching career includes tenures at UNC Wilmington, where he coached Jamaican World Cup star and current NWSL goalkeeper Sydney Schneider, as well as Elon University, Queens University, and Radford University.

Justin was a three-year starter in goal at Radford University from 1984-1986 and currently ranks third in program history in career saves. He signed his first professional contract with the Orlando Lions in 1988, and was among the first Americans to play professionally overseas when he made his debut for Borehamwood FC (England), for whom he made 23 appearances in the 1990-91 season. He finished his playing career as the starting goalkeeper for the Cocoa Expos, leading them to the 1995 USISL Championship game, having won all 23 of his starts in goal.

Justin holds the NSCAA National coaching license, as well as the Hertfordshire FA Level III Goalkeeping License. He graduated with a BA from Elon University in 2001 and an MFA from New York University in 2008. He and his wife Sarah live in Raleigh with their dog Roxy.
