Fayetteville, N.C. - North Carolina Wesleyan's volleyball squad avenged a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to Methodist University two weeks ago by handing the Monarchs a 3-0 sweep in Wednesday's USA South action. Set scores were 25-15, 25-21 and 25-19. Senior Anna Hart led all players with 11 kills and six blocks to pace the Bishops, who have now won eight straight matches.

Meredith Smith joined Hart in double-figures with 10 kills, while Kristi Lucas and Shana Ayers chipped in 31 assists and 23 digs, respectively.  Fellow senior Erin Augspurger added four block assists.

Having won 11 of their last 12 matches, the Battling Bishops now stand at 12-6 overall and are a perfect 3-0 in conference play. Wesleyan hosts a league tri-match on Friday with Mary Baldwin and Greensboro. The first match is slated for 4:30pm, and head coach Robin Pietryk will be honoring her seniors prior to the final match at 8:30pm.
