Women's Tennis Falls at D-2 Embry-Riddle

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The NC Wesleyan College women's tennis team fell 7-0 at D-2 Embry Riddle University (Fla.) on the road Friday afternoon to complete their Florida road trip with a record of 2-4.

Freshman Milena Amedieva dropped a close #2 singles match in three sets winning the first set 6-3 before falling 4-6 and 10-12. Sophomore Julianna Johnson then battled hard before succumbing 7-6, 6-3 at #4 singles.

The doubles team of Johnson and senior Stephany Barbera then dropped a close match falling 7-6 (7-4 in tiebreaker) while the pairing of Amedieva and freshman Fariza Abdulloeva fell 6-4 in their competitive match.

The Lady Bishops, 4-4, will now rest until their next match on March 23 when they host conference rival Methodist at 1 PM. Embry-Riddle improves to 3-3.
