With conference play at the halfway point in the season, the Bishops needed a big road win to stay tied for first in the USA South. Going into the break, Wesleyan held a four point margain mainly because of defense once again. 

The Bishops held the Fighting Squirrels to 0% from three in the first half forcing them to go 0-14 from behind the arc. Along with the defensive effort, Wesleyan held Mary Baldwin to 31% shooting from the floor in the same half.

Isaiah Lewis had one of the better halves by any Bishop this season, chipping in 12 points and 6 rebounds heading into the break.

Coming out of the half, the Fighting Squirrels went on a run and by the midway point in the second half, held a double digit lead. The Bishops had other plans and would not give up so easily. Led by Khalid Chavis-Hinds' remarkable 17 points the second half and a perfect 7-7 from the charity stripe, the Bishops clawed back to a lead after the under four media timeout, and ultimately won the game 83-72. 

Lewis also did not have a shabby second half himself, by finishing the afternoon with a double-double consisting of 21 points and 12 rebounds by shooting 9-19 from the floor.

Other notables from the game would include Brayden Dixon who scored 13 points (11th in 2nd half), and Marquis Esquew who had 10 points and 3 rebounds for the afternoon.

USA South play continues Wednesday night, as the Bishops will travel to Methodist to face the Monarchs at 7:30 PM.
