Box Score Fredericksburg, VA – The N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball team dropped their first game of the season on the road at the University of Mary Washington (RV) 81-56 Saturday afternoon.
Marquis Eskew led the scoring effort for the Bishops for the second game in a row pouring in 23 points including a sparking 12-13 from the charity stripe as well as dishing out a team high three assists.
Austin Manley and
Markquan Gilbert each chipped in 10 points.

After trailing early, a Gilbert jump shot with 11:28 remaining sparked an 11-0 run by the Bishops including six points added by Eskew. Similarly, NC Wesleyan started the second half on a 5-0 spurt which cut the deficit to ten, and teams traded scoring runs until just under 12:30 remaining in the second half where UMW was able to add to their advantage.
The Bishops next game is this Wednesday, November 15, 7:30pm at home in the friendly confines of Everett Gym vs. Guilford College (RV). NC Wesleyan has enjoyed a very competitive recent history with the Quakers winning the last two and three of the last four contests including last year's game on a tip in at the buzzer in Greensboro.

Wesleyan will return home on Wednesday night to face Guilford in non-conference action. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30
