Rocky Mount, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball team fell to 1-2 on the season after dropping its second straight contest to Guilford at home on Wednesday evening. Wesleyan would have a good stretch out of the under eight media timeout in the first half after a slow start, going on a nine points scoring run to cut the Quakers lead to single digits. While the Battling Bishops only led for a short period of time in the first half,
Justin Burden had a team high of nine points and four rebounds headed into the break.
The second half would see the Battling Bishops come out with a bang, shooting nearly 45% from the floor led by
Marquis Eskew who contributed ten points and a three pointer in the period, finishing with fourteen points and a rebound.
Kyron Kelly and
Deejayy Cox would also come up with eight points each in the second half and both finish in double digits for the night. Wesleyan also outrebounded the Quakers Wednesday night, with a 37-32 advantage on the boards, leading to fifteen second chance points.
