Brooklyn, NY - The N.C. Wesleyan basketball team dominated Medgar Evers College in the first game of the program's NYC trip 108-66. Sharp shooter
Austin Manley who was second in NCAA DIII in three point percentage a year ago, led the way for the Battling Bishops with 26 points, five rebounds, and four assists, making six threes.
Marquis Eskew and
Kyron Kelly were also able to get into double figures for Wesleyan with Kelly bringing down eight of the team's remarkable 62 rebounds on the night. That number stands as the second most in school history only behind 68 total Wesleyan rebounds against Daniel Webster in 1998.

Outrebounding Medgar Evers by a margin of 22, the domination of the boards helped Wesleyan to one of its most prolific defensive efforts of the season. The Cougars were held to only 31% from the floor, and a sluggish 31% from behind the arc. The intense defensive pressure also forced 23 Cougar turnovers with
James Jones leading the way with four steals on the evening.
The offense was also blazing hot in Brooklyn, seeing the Battling Bishops shoot over 50% from the floor the arc for the first time this season. The charity stripe was also kind, as Wesleyan made 85% from the free throw line going 25-30, much improved to the liking of Head Coach
John Thompson Shakei Hines, the Wilson Hunt product would see himself in double figures for the first time this year, with a stat line of twelve points, six rebounds, three assists and two blocks. As a team, the Battling Bishops would block thirteen Cougar blocks, which is a season high.
