Rocky Mount, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan women's soccer program fell to Bob Jones on opening day by a final score of 2-0. In the first half, Wesleyan was able to push the ball in opponent's territory making away for fantastic looks on goal. Three Bishops led the way with shots on goal in the half with
Makaela Stokes,
Samantha Dell, and
Vendela Dolsenius each recording two. Bob Jones would take the lead at the break however, by way of a goal from Gabriela Gonzalez.
In the second period,
Anna Yeakey would be huge in keeping the game completive with two massive saves to keep the game at 1-0. While the Bishops would not overcome a late second half goal by Mia Marks, Wesleyan strides ahead to the rest of the NCWU Classic.
The ladies will take the field again tomorrow for a 4 pm kickoff vs LaGrange.
