Ferrum, VA - The N.C. Wesleyan football team fell to Ferrum on the road 38-0 on Saturday. While the Bishops had trouble moving the ball, the defense held the Panthers to only 10 points going into the break and made multiple big plays to keep Ferrum out of the end zone.
Ferrum was held to under 200 yards rushing on the ground and only averaged under four yards a carry on the afternoon.
Eric Cooper would have a standout day smashing Panther rushers at the line of scrimmage have a total of 10 solo tackles for the Wesleyan defense.
On the offensive side of the ball,
Leopoldo Cardelli would get the start at QB and go an immaculate 6/6 passing with 22 yards. The Bishops would put in a combination of three quarterbacks on the afternoon to go along with Cardelli, with Flood and Yates went a combined 15/20 in the air for the Bishops.
It helped that they had
Javarion Smith and
Deondre Hill to throw to with the duo picking up a combined 63 yards receiving.
Also on the ground,
Anthony Byrd would lead the rushing attack having five carries for 21 yards and averaged 4.2 yards per carry.
The Bishops will once again hit the road next weekend to travel to Bridegwater for the annual USA South ODAC crossover game.
