Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Wins First Ever Game at Vernon T. Bradley Jr. Stadium

Rocky Mount, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan men's soccer program won its first ever game in the program's debut at Vernon T. Bradley Jr. Stadium by a score of 2-1. In a wild game that started at Scalf Field and went through three lightning delays, the contest was moved to the turf field with the Bishops up 1-0 and 39:50 left in the first half.

Through the delays, Wesleyan came out on an unfamiliar surface and dominated. Rafael Farina had a total of nine saves against the Wildcats, and came up with two crucial saves to keep the Bishops tied after a Randolph goal at the 23:46 mark.

Justo Esponda-Neuss scored his first goal of the season for Wesleyan in the 61st minute to secure a big non-conference victory.

On the stat sheet, Evan Vicenti led the team with two shots on goal, but coming at crucial spots in the match.

The men's soccer program will have a monumental game on Saturday as they head to top five nationally ranked Christopher Newport for a showdown under the lights at 7 pm.
