In a battle for second place in the USA South, Wesleyan would get off to a sluggish start, trailing after the first quarter 18-8 and dropping the second quarter by a deficit of three. Exploding late in the second half, Wesleyan outrebounded the Monarchs and nearly grabbed 40 boards for the duration of the game. The stiffing defense would also force 12 Methodist turnovers and held the Monarchs to only 3-15 behind the line. While the second half comeback came up just short, the Battling Bishops are still in a great position to control their own destiny in conference play.
