Men's Soccer Dominates Mary Baldwin 5-0

Staunton, VA - The N.C. Wesleyan men's soccer team delivered a commanding 5-0 victory over Mary Baldwin on Saturday, with five different Bishops finding the back of the net in a dominant performance.

Finlay Evans opened the scoring in the 15th minute with his first gaol of 2024, and Mohamed Macalou quickly followed with his first goal of the season in the 24th minute, giving Wesleyan an early 2-0 lead. Justo Esponda-Neuss then added to the advantage before halftime, netting a goal at the 30-minute mark, assisted by Tobie Smith, to send the Bishops into the break up 3-0.

In the second half, Bastien Dechamps kept the momentum going, scoring his second goal of the season in the 58th minute. Tobie Smith, who had earlier assisted on a goal, capped off the scoring with his second of the year in the 76th minute, assisted by Adrian Pelloni.

Wesleyan controlled the game with a commanding, season-high 24 shots, fourteen of which were on target, putting constant pressure on Mary Baldwin's defense.
