Rocky Mount, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan men's soccer team celebrated a historic achievement on Wednesday afternoon, completing an undefeated conference regular season with a 2-1 victory over Methodist at Scalf Field. This marks the first time since 2019 that a team in the USA South finished the regular season without a loss or tie, concluding the campaign with a perfect 7-0 record.

The match began with an early breakthrough as Bastien Dechamps scored the first goal in the 9th minute, converting a penalty kick for his second goal of the year. The Bishops continued to apply pressure, and Osei Darko opened the second half with a bang, netting his third goal of the 2024 season.
Despite a late response from the Monarchs, who scored in the 70th minute on their only shot on goal of the game, it was not enough to mount a comeback. The Bishops dominated, recording thirteen shots and successfully converting both shots on goal into goals.
Following the match, NCWU President Dr. Evan Duff presented the team with the USA South Regular Season Conference Championship trophy, celebrating the impressive accomplishment in front of fans.
